The Birth
In one moment in time, God spoke and said, “Let there be,” and “it was.” God formed, shaped and molded until He had proven the fashion according to His liking. Speaking to their hearts they answered the call, first to salvation, then the call to the ministry, and next the call to be under shepherds in His vineyard, for Jesus is our Great Shepherd.
Through out the life of Elder and Evangelist Baker, God spoke to them in various ways and manners showing them His will for their life. Who can withstand the awesomeness of God, for they found themselves submitting humbly at His feet, waiting to do what He commanded. Through many trials and tribulations God created workers out of them, while simultaneously developing the gifts He placed within them; for he gave some Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the body of Jesus Christ. Serving for seven faithful years under their late spiritual father, Bishop Paul L. Martin the Hawaii Jurisdictional Prelate, he blessed and released them to begin their first ministry under the Church of God in Christ ordaining them in October 2007. The Lord spoke to them and said, “No looking back,” for the scripture saith, “He that putteth his hand to the plow and looking back is not fit for the kingdom of God.” In answer to God’s call, He spoke to them and gave the name, El Shaddai. “El” meaning “God” and “Shaddai” meaning “Almighty or God of the mountain.” Because of his Love for them, God’s plan was greater.
On November 3, 2007, the first Bible study was held at this venue, the Community Lutheran Church – Wels located in the city of Honolulu, Hawaii. With a membership of 10 and an attendance count of 14, with our first lesson entitled, “A Spirit of Thanksgiving”. Yes God is good. God is continually blessing this ministry with evident signs and wonders.
In 2015, God spoke to Elder Baker saying, it would soon be time to go in a new direction and God gave the man of God a new vision. With clarity and guidance from above, during their Church Anniversary, God gave the theme “When God Changes Your Name”, thus beginning the change of their church name to “Bethlehem of El Shaddai Ministries.” After sharing with their then Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop Jesse T. Wilson, Sr., they were released to continue doing the work God had called them to do.
On November 19, 2017, they were ordained as Pastors of Bethlehem of El Shaddai Ministries by their spiritual parents, Bishop Michael “Hurricane” and Evangelist Katherine “Quiet Storm” Henderson of New Life Body of Christ.
